The story began slowly, but the main plot is just unveiling itself and I’m excited.

My biggest issue with these fantasy series is when they add too many new characters and they all get points of view… I am starting to lose interest because I am losing sight of where the plot is headed 😮‍💨

I usually don’t care for nonfiction, but Anita’s writing style has me captivated listening to her write about her childhood. I was recommended this book and looking forward to the rest of it.

Can’t go 1 chapter without the author mentioning how thiccc the main character is 🙄 come on, it’s getting old, we get it, and we don’t need reminders.

It’s finally getting better but there’s no mystery keeping me hooked and I can’t tell you why I should care about the dragon situation, but here we are.

The book is ok but it’s missing something. It’s not so bad that I’m not going to finish it, but I can’t quite put my finger on what is wrong with the writing style

I’m really enjoying it so far. Some takeaways are: when unwanted thoughts into your brain while being mindful simply acknowledge them as they are and move on. Also counting while breathing during meditation is a good way to begin focusing when you are first starting out. I practiced this morning and it went very well being that I haven’t meditated in a while.

The author spoke about walking with a friend and how beneficial it can be to be mindful, if both friends are being mindful at the same time however still maintaining mindfulness when the friend wants to speak rather than feeling frustration that they will not be quiet. I thought that was very powerful and a good lesson in patience and reframing the mindset. I also really enjoyed the explanation of correct breathing.

The author explains a story about talking to his friend about family life. His friend talks about reframing the time he spends with his family. rather than thinking about the time spent with others as fractions of his own time, while the remainder is time for him, he reconsiders how to make all of his time “his own time” including that which he spends with his family from fractions

I feel like the author is dragging this out.

Since the story has started focusing more on the villain and Evie it’s getting better

So far it’s going… ok… Nura being in the mix of characters ruins the dynamic for me. There’s not a lot of interactions between Trystan and Evie either. Please don’t disappoint me, book 🥲

I have to say I’m a little bit nervous knowing that there’s one more book to the series when it was originally just supposed to be a trilogy. I’ve been holding onto this volume for months now, putting it off, but finally, I’m bringing myself to reading it. I hope that doesn’t mean that this is going to be a bad story.

I was wondering what they were going to focus on after the close out of vol 8, and I guess it’s the side characters… which is fine, but I still feel like we lost out on the wedding planning for Hari and Taemu 🥲. I can’t say I’m as excited to keep reading as I was for the first 8 volumes, but I will keep going regardless.
