DEEPLY impressed by the atmosphere work going on in this so far. Usually I stray away from any horror novel that labels itself “extreme” but I was too drawn to the setting to not dive in, and thus far I’m very impressed with the work it’s doing.

Re-reading this one after 2&3 just reminds me of how much I miss seeing Lucien, especially on his own. Either hopefully there’s more in store for him in later books (either 4/5 or one that isn’t out yet) or maybe SJM just kinda forgot about him

The second read through really makes all the red flags POP OUT like DAMN this man has NO IDEA HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE and has NO IDEA HOW TO NOT GET HIS WAY

This book is ripping my heart into little pieces

I expected this to be a light read in between books for me, but this book is AMAZING. Literally made me cry. I read a hundred pages and it didn’t even feel like I was reading for very long because the story just keeps getting more interesting. Had to force myself to put it down because I have homework.

This is SUCH a fun read so far

This is a very interesting read so far! Very eerie…. I had actual chills. Do I have any idea what’s going on? Not at all. Do I feel like something is definitely wrong? 100%. Do I know what it is that is wrong? Not in the slightest. VERY excited for how this novel will play out!
