Great criticism of mechanistic/scientism
Recalls holistic logos/nous (dharma/Tao by comparison to an eastern glance -pg 59) unified transcendence/immanence of the divine and created. Not monist but not strict Cartesian dualism.

Chapter is an excellent brief survey of traditional (mid)understandings of what we talk about when we talk God. From the Ancient Greek demiurge to the babble of new atheist disillusionment, 16-17 century deism, to the fundamental/evangelical Intelligent Design deity. At the end of that survey in the 5th part of Ch. 1 Hart lays out the etymological and cultural work by way of orthodox theology and Hindu Sanskrit.
