this is literally putting me to sleep. i don’t know if it’s just a poor translation, not my cup of tea, or genuinely boring

Hard to read because it’s so depressing and the misogynistic ideas present in the ‘small’ communities she describes have just become even more mainstream in the 5 years since this was published.

one short story to go i think, but i have to finish mistborn era 2 first and i really don’t want to get around to it, im not rly a wax and wayne fan

Not a fan so far

oh no this one is really bad

Dor’s thoughts are really young, which normally would make sense for him as a 16 year old character, but the problem is that it’s supposed to have been four years since the last book, and 12 year old Dor’s characterization in the last book was noticeably more mature than the Dor of this book. It just doesn’t feel like good writing.

So far, this has exceeded my sky-high expectations. Don’t want it to end.

10% in and starting to laugh every time I read “This is Elantris” or “We are Elantrians.” This is Excessive.

3.5 stars. Writing style reminded me of The Giver.
