I’m not sure how niche this overlap is hahah, but Alchemised reminds me so much of a darker adult Shatter Me? Something about reading Alchemised feels so familiar to how Aaron and Juliette felt when I was young.

incredible book, heartbreaking and so so so full of emotion and depth!

just started part 2 and i miss kaaaaaineeeeee

it’s inarguably good, but a bit difficult to get into? my mom says later on i will find beauty in how slowly and unknowingly this is unfolding, but for now, i simply feel my attention slipping away very easily…?

my mom is reading this book as well, and without her clarifications of terms i would be SO lost right now? is that not bothersome to others without anyone to ask for definitions?

i’m not sure why i expected this book to be bad hahah, i was so prepared to be disappointed (for no real reason) but it’s lovely so far!

(that is to say, it’s not life changing, or has not swept me of my feet the way some stories have, but it’s a dreamy fairytale i’m glad to get lost in)

this book has soooo many fun elements, but they are all so randomly and briefly mentioned, and it’s all so fast, that a lot of it falls flat…

i wouldn’t mind reading the inner thoughts of a kind man, but they’re always terribly and unawarely evil

i thought i didn’t like this book all that much, but as it turns out, in the chapters dedicated to Sabina and Tereza, I actually love the writing, philosophical input and storytelling !!

i think the stupidity of the male characters was just throwing me off.

reading these books made me realise how many romantic stories these days only really write scenes and conversations to actively build the love story, not simply to tell a story where people happen to fall in love.

many scenes are the characters just being comfortable or in distress around each other, without them being obviously romantic, and that makes all the love feel so much more genuine !!
