Real talk. Cassian. Galen. Krennic. Saw. Jyn. Luthen. Klea. All incredible. This era of Star Wars (end of the Clone Wars to the beginning of the Rebellion) is some the richest and most interesting.

Galen and Krennic star in this novel so far and... It's just great. Really hoping for a Luthen and Klea novel down the line. I'd take more media of anything set in this period.

I'm getting a lot out of this reread... Seeing connections I didn't notice before. The end is close and I'm reminded if how Ruocchio continually raises the stakes and am curious of how much higher they can get. We know the end of Hadrian's tale, but not how we get there. Im excited to enjoy the journey to the destination I know is inevitable.

The political scenes in this section are top notch. The moment when we see the Extra's... So good. Perfectly alien, otherworldly, and intimidating. I just love how this all came together.

I have been struck (especially in Kingdom of Death, Ashes of Man, and so far in Disquiet Gods) how many scenes parallel the story of the Christ. Life. Death, Resurrection. I once read a story about the life of Jesus in the years before he started his ministry. It explored how a Messiah would realize they are the Messiah. Fully human yet fully God. Does a 6 year old know they are God? Hadrian's journey is similar.

Why does parenting and work always have to get in the way of a good book? So close to the end and things are getting really intense. Sigh. I'll just have to wait til tonight to see what happens.

The 'Chain of Dogs' section of this novel has been heart wrenching, challenging, and so well written. This is one of the best books I've ever read.

I really hope the 'new problem; new key' plot device gets shaken up a bit.

Draz is basically Rocket (Guardians of the Galaxy) and The Hound's (A Song of Ice and Fire) love child.

This is such a fun story.

I have been wanting to try out Larry Correia books based mostly on the recommendations by Matt's Fantasy Book Reviews. For whatever reason, Son of the Black Sword (Correia's fantasy series) kept falling down my TBR. Then I heard about Academy of Outcasts. Different realms based on the elements. Humorous. Progression fantasy. D&D elements. Blue collar hero. A magical academy. The first chapter was excellent!

We all have the auntie who has that off limits room where there is plastic on the couch and horrific figurines on all the shelves. Transformation is setting loose a class of Kindergarten kids in that room. We need to look at the sacred parts of our workspaces; the look but don't touch ones, and touch and break them.

Love this. change is uncomfortable and leaders need to become comfortable with discomfort.

I'm not totally digging this right now. I've read a few of her previous books and enjoyed her TED talks but I haven't really found anything yet that I'm like "hey! I'm going to integrate that into my practice!"

It's still early so we will see.
