Stayed till 2am reading. So good!

Reading again. The first time I haven't finished. Then read and loved Devil House. Giving it another try. Beautiful (so far) and to be read slowly.

I am suspecting there may be animal cruelty involved later in this book so I asked Goodreads community and until I get an answer I am putting this book on hold.

Re-reading, after some 30 years.

Listening to audiobook. Knitting. Good dark book for dark evenings. Semi steampunk XIX century London, ruled by an alien race of lizards.

I am half way through and enjoying it very much. The first chapters were hard, too many characters introduced all at once, hardly any of them human. Lots of history thrown in too. But the writing is so funny, clever and engaging that I am not deep into the story and it's good, twisty, with wicked sense of humour that makes me think of Pratchett.

Lavie Tidhar can write a book about watching paint dry and I will read it twice. Love the poetic language.

LOL I like the book so far so checked his other books. They are all technical manuals about Linux. Now I like him even more :-D (two of my computers run on Linux).

I loved her Orquidea Divina, but this is too much YA for my taste, I think I will put it aside for a while,,, a very very long while...

Decided to re-read all the Nastia Kamienska (detective character of this series) in proper order - yes, all 31 books. Marinina is a Russian PD James, her Kamienska series cover the last decade of the XX century Russia, in itself quite interesting period. Too bad none got translated into English; I have most in Polish (mixture of e- and audio-books), the non translated two I will have to struggle through in Russian.

What a book. Every American should read it. And everybody else. So many levels. I am reading an ebook from the library, but I want a paper copy so I can mark and annotate.

I've read The Talisman ages ago and enjoyed it. With this one, it's a slow reading, the language is - how to put it nicely - very baroque. King has a fave expression that a person who never shuts up has the tongue attached in the middle so it can wag on both ends at once. With some of his books, this one included, I think he describes himself...

I think I'll put it away for a while. His Ring Shout was amazing, this one I am struggling with.

Currently reading for the second time. Just discovered the author wrote 2 more volumes, so I thought I'd refresh my memory, and they were fun to read the first time - a good adventure with a touch of supernatural, on the very solid historical background.
