To be anti-racist is to rethink a series of ideas we were given by our society and that have passed through generations. It’s hard work and it’s to be done on a daily basis. The clarity of examples given, although sometimes US American focused, allow for a broaden interpretation of situations from our own experiences. It’s been an eye opening experience.

The old flame Brás Cubas and Virgilia are back in the house. And the terrible, vicious, quite unbearable and intensely insane love that got them back after two or three waltzes is about to change it all. Oh, I love this book! Yet, reading it in English brings, somehow, a little bit of “poshiness” to its content? Let’s keep going…

Got it as an audiobook.
It’s painful and eye-opening to hear, and I haven’t got much past from the intro. I sounds like an educative and transformational piece of content.

Listening to it as an audiobook.
It sounds like it is also a very good one for non-vegans who sympathise with the idea.
Let’s see how it goes!

Reading this for the fourth time, I think, with the difference that’s the first one I read it in English. There are some distinct phrases and some disappointing parts (I guess the Portuguese version has way more passion), but, it’s been interesting to imagine how other people might interpret this classic, without the context of its language. Let’s keep going.
