Frankie lost another love of her life???? Yo…I’m literally sobbing 😭

She was so excited for Rye to come back!!!! 😭😭😭😭

First Jamie and now Rye???? 😭😭😭

When I tell you how not okay I feel right now, I mean it. This book is so devastating 😭 Like already a third into the book and we have either lost important characters or said goodbye to some of Frankie’s first friends.

No like truly Kristin Hannah wrote something magical in this story that I can’t even control my tears 😭 I smell a 5 star rating…👀👀

Yo…how did I already go through a circle of emotions within the beginning part of this book. Like I wanted to cry alongside Sloane because younger me totally related to how she was feeling.

Allison you did amazingly with showing how one can be in circles when navigating a situationship and omg it’s truly a mental torture cycle. I’m legit crying right now!!

I have never felt so immersed in a book world and Kristin Hannah really knows how yo transport you to the worlds of her story. I love hearing the descriptive detail of Frankie navigating her journey as a nurse through the war and hearing/visualizing everything that she is experiencing.

This is my second Kristin Hannah book I am reading and let me just say, this is amazing so far!

So this is definitely relatable to when I used to be in college. The whole beginning of Sloane and Ethan’s story is very relatable on how early stages of a situationship can be and all I know is that my heart will ache for Sloane and my blood will boil when it comes to Ethan.

So far, I absolutely love the premise! And right off the bad we get hit with a tragedy, which causes Frankie to continue her journey as a nurse in the war.

Starting this one today!! Needed a switch from the romance genre and I figured this book will be the right transition for something different 😄

Umm…where is that restraining order??? This is disturbing!!

Like actually, Alex is a walking red flag. That is just....I can't imagine why Ava ever liked him.

I'm not going to lie...the ending is a little bit of a doozy so far. Also, it is kind of creepy that Alex is trying to stalk his way to find Ava in London. LEAVE HER ALONE!!

So far, I am liking the premise of this book. The author does a good job so far with explaining part of how the college dating experience is like, especially the moments you start having a crush. I also appreciate the dual pov as I love seeing thoughts from the guys point of view as in most scenarios with situationships, I have always wanted to know the thought process through the guy's perspective.

Am I annotating this book as a first time read...yes...but so far the first page pulled me in

So a lot happened and now I feel like I have more questions in terms of how this whole “murder” plot twist came to play. I feel as though there could have been more of a build up with Ava and Alex’s past because both of their major plot points/story lines happened so suddenly without any context on the background of their pasts.

But I will say, the past few chapters were interesting to listen to.

The twists keep twisting!! I swear!!! Holy shit!!


I still don’t think Ava and Alex are a good couple but I’m starting to understand them individually.

So that being said, I might have been harsh to rate this straight away at a 2 star rating. It has definitely made its way to a 2.75 rating now...but I don't know...


Please tell me the rest of the books are better than this...

So we finally get introduced to Rhys Larsen (my guess is he will be Bridget's love interest), so I am definitely excited to read the next book!

And also that was a twist of Ava's dad potentially being the person that was attempting to kill his own daughter....I'm sorry what?

And my thoughts on Alex has still not changed except for the fact that I am glad he is trying to help Ava with the trauma she is experiencing

Every time I think that Alex couldn’t get any worse…he just does. So basically Madelyn was right, he treats every girl he is with so terribly, especially during hookups (the cleanest term I can use right now). He is calling Ava his “slut”…I’m sorry, what???

Like any time you think you want to give him brownie points, he goes in and ruins it. Ugh I hate him!! Ava get away from this filthy man!!

So…he has admitted in his chapters that he would treat a woman as a object (bad way)…AVA THIS IS A HUGE RED FLAG!!

Okay I get Madelyn is pissed about being rejected but why would she push Ava into the pool?? This is giving Maxton Hall season 1 when Ruby got thrown into the pool (but James’s guy friend whose name I keep forgetting and not Elaine)

Umm….Ava…I would take whatever Madelyn said literally because Alex truly is vile with the way he treats women. Yes, Madelyn is definitely scorning over being rejected by Alex but is she wrong about how he can be? Like whatever he does when hooking up with a woman…why treat her like an object??

The way this book opens your eyes to how life can be perceived in so many different ways, is truly amazing. You never realize how life can truly be for yourself until you have to reflect and look back at what either could have been or has happened in the past.

Honestly I’ll agree with Alex on this one, she should take some type of self defense classes, even Krav Maga.

He definitely is becoming slightly softer for Ava but I still hate his personality and the way he thinks of women. Sorry not sorry.

How is Ava starting to feel anything for this walking red flag of a man????

I do love Ava as an individual but falling for Alex Volkov…no thanks

I’ll give Alex one brownie point for saving her from her ex Liam bc Liam is mad weird. That’s it.
