Odium has become Retribution. Dalinar managed to get his sight off of Roshar for a while, giving the people he loves a chance. Kaladin is a herald, and will train the other to become healthy for another Return. The Alethi monarchy is abolished. Adolin’s group of Unoathed can still summon plate and blade. Sigzil holds the dawnshard and Wit is offworld. Shallan is pregnant? What will happen to Gav? Many cliffhangers!

Dalinar takes on the power of Honor, but then renounces it, possibly restarting the desolations. Honor’s power was willing to be renounced. Szeth faces his past as he destroys the puppets of his family and friends.

Kaladin and Szeth reach oath 5. Azir is lost, and Adolin leads a strike team to capture the throne. There kills Abidi the monarch and Maya arrives with an army of deadeyes. Azir is saved. Jasnah signed a peace treaty with the singers, causing the Shattered Plains to fall to Dalinar. Rlain and Renarin release Mishram, righting and ancient wrong. Shallan kills Mraize and Iyatil. Ishar begins to see reason

Rysn is a Dawnshard, and so is Wit. They cannot be near each other. Navani brings herself and Gav back to Urithiru using a vision of Elhokar’s death. Sigzil and Venli are plotting. Kaladin is completely outmatched by Nale, causing him to appeal to his morals. He plays the flute and uses the Wind. He begs Nale to answer “Why did you become a Herald”. Nale breaks the prison of the law, and his spren leaves.

Shallan makes contact with her mother in the Spiritual Realm. Chana started the Desolations, she tried to be normal and couldn’t due to the insanity of immortality. Szeth started a rebellion in his past. Dalinar breaks Odiums control and finds the Stormfather. There he is thrust into visions of Tanavast, God. Rayse destroyed Ashyn and caused the pilgrimage to Roshar. Makibak was Nale’s father, sound familiar?

Shallan’s mom was Chana, a herald. She’s still alive. The Voice speaking to the Honorbearers and Szeth in Shinovar is an unmade who corrupts spren and humans alike.

Melishi, a Tower bondsmith, betrayed Mishram and removed all forms of power from the singers. Lift rescues Zahel. Odium wishes to debate Jasnah for control of Thaylenah. Venli and the listeners are caught and offered a truce if they join the fused. Gav watches Dalinar beat Elhokar in a vision. Szeth’s quest is revealed to be a test when he finds his sister as an Honorbearer. He is supposed to become a new Herald.

Adolin destroys the Thunderclast and pushes back the Fused assault; at a cost. He has lost one of his legs, as well as Taln and Ash. Moash kills yet another Bridge Four member in Leyten. Sigzil’s death is prophesied in the death rattle. Szeth is one step away from becoming an Honorbearer in the flashbacks. Shallan thinks she can find Mishram, but is interrupted by Dalinar discovering the vision of Honor’s death.

The assault on Thaylenah seems to be fake. Narak four has fallen, leaving one decoy plain. Nale travels with Kaladin and Szeth. Shallan encounters Mraize again, but is unable to finish him off. Notum joins Adolin’s team in Azimir. In his youth, Szeth was sent to train to be an Honorbearer, and his father goes with him again. Zahel is being tortured somewhere and Odium destroys Kharbranth. Mishrim healed the singers

Szeth is ambushed by two more honorblade wielders, one his old master. He kills one and the other falls on his sword to trap Szeth. (Didn’t work). The Chasmfiends can sing ancient songs. Szeth kills and burns the ships of the raiders in his past. This causes outrage. The listeners decide to go to Narak. The assault on Narak begins.

Dalinar and Navani end up in the vision of humans arrival. Shallan, Rlain, and Renarin are there as well, but separate and hunting Mraize. Szeth discovers that killing the Honorblade wielder at a town cures them of whatever darkness. Szeth’s whole family went to the soldier camp. Kaladin is happy while dancing with Syl, but Szeth disappears. Adolin is summoned, another attack arrives in Azimir

Mraize throws voidlight into Dalinar’s perpendicularity, causing an explosion and Gav to be sucked in. El is unleashed by Odium. Szeth’s childhood had him kill a man for killing his sheep. Adolin and the Azimirians fight off the first wave of singers successfully. Szeth kills the Stoneward priestess with his second vow, and will carry on locating the other monasteries. Taravangian may work either Cultivation

Shallan infiltrates the ghostbloods, and learns that they are going to attempt to get into the Spiritual realm with Dalinar to free Bo-Ado Mishram. Szeth’s flashbacks start, with his family moving a rock illegally, then invasion. 3 assaults are revealed, Azimir, Shattered Plains, and Thaylenah. Dalinar wishes to become Honor. Lift is a good friend to Gav, and they sneak into the Dalinar’s perpindicularity room

Gavilar met with some of the heralds before he died, including Nale. Something is afoot. He also previously was bonding the Stormfather. Wit foretells doom and gloom for Kaladin. Kaladin is asked to go to Shinovar, and more importantly, become Dalinar’s heir. Adolin and Shallan fight off an attack in Shadesmar, leading Shallan to say the fourth ideal. An attack on Azimir is preparing in Shadesmar. Day one ends.

Kaladin beats the Pursuer, who is killed later by El. Moash kills Teft and feels nothing. Navani kills Raboniel, then bonds with the Sibling and blinds Moash, as well as making all singers go unconscious in the Tower. Rlain becomes a Truthwatcher and Venli and Leshwi betray the Singers. Kaladin speaks 4th Oath. Dalinar finds Spren carcasses in Ishar’s tent. Taravangian is Odium. Contest of Chanpions is in 10 days.

There is a a group of listeners still alive, the ones who denied stormform. Venli reveals her past betrayal to Rlain. Taravangian speaks with Sja-Anat, who can lure Odium to Szeth. Dalinar will go speak with Ishar to learn Bondsmith technique in order to open a perpindicularity at Urithiru. Jasnah and wit are dating? The Sibling requests Rlain as the final node is in danger. Moash is tasked with Killing Syl.

Navani discovers the anti voidlight, which allows Raboniel to find a way to kill Spren. Shallan bonded the original dead Cryptid used at Adolin’s trial when she was a child. This memory was revealed when Veil leaves her and formless is revealed to be Shallan’s dark desires and insecurities. I believe Shallan is finally out of the woods with the personalities. Maya reveals the spren chose to leave their radiants.

Venli and Ulim hired Szeth to kill Gavilar. Funny enough they did it to make the Parshendi weak enough to require the forms of power. Eshonai did it to stop the forms of power. Shallan’s target is the High Judge. Navani and Raboniel create Warlight. Venli frees Lift and she heals Kaladin, as well as wakes up Teft. Dabbid talks now, he was afraid of being different. First day of Adolin’s trial is over. Went well.

Kaladin fights the pursuer again and breaks the second node. Rlain is freed by Venli. Stormlight and Voidlight are not the only to powers. Lifelight exists and the lights can combine to make new ones. Navani tries to combine Storm and Void. Jasnah acts like her father on the battlefield and Emul is almost won. Venli can meld stone. Dalinar seeks the original Bondsmith. Kaladin destroys the third node in desperation.

Venli is planning her sedition. She now plans to wake up any radiants that could help them. Venli bonded with some kind of Spren 8 years ago, will have to find out more. Renarin aims to recruit more Sja-Anat Radiants. Kaladin tries to get a good look at the Oathgates and fails. However, he’s presented with another opportunity in stealing a spanreed. He pulls it off just before he is called to defend the Sibling.

Taravangian sees hope. Odium is not all knowing and there are enigmas present in his predictions. Kaladin brings Teft to a safe room, where Odium launches his first attack in Kaladin’s sleep. Venli finds how to achieve new forms but is overshadowed by Eshonai discovering humans. Dalinar and the Mink know something is wrong about Taravangian’s betrayal but can’t place it. Jasnah makes waves as queen, bans duels.

Navani puts up the shield to protect the Sibling. He is safe, for now. Navani will work as an engineer for Raboniel and the singers. Kaladin must fight and kill a Regal to protect Teft. Lorin is furious and claims his son has died. Moash (now Vyre) has a plan with Odium to break Kaladin’s mind. Vyre wishes to kill him as a mercy but Odium has other plans.

Teft is Kaladin’s new assistant. Together, they found that people with mental illnesses are treated horribly. Kaladin seems to have found a real calling here. Shallan and Adolin arrive at a small Spren town in Shadesmar. Shallan knows Beryl is the spy. Navani’s mystery communicator seems to be a spren, and they are in Urithiru.

The Coalition will send troops to Emul. As well as an envoy to the Honorspren’s city. Sja-Anat is ordered to follow Taravangian. Taravangian sends his friends away, as he is going to betray the Coalition in Emul. Shallan must find the Ghostblood spy among the Unseen Court. They are on the expedition in Shadesmar. Adolin is able to communicate slightly with Maya. Could he revive her?

Rlain denies the spren, as he does not wish to have a forced bond. Kaladin duels Zahel in an attempt to join the Ardents. Zahel reveals he is similar to the singers, and somewhat immortal. Dalinar realizes he cannot retake Alethkar, and must instead opt to reclaim Emul. They will also try to make contact with the Shin to learn about their powers. Kaladin will become a surgeon again.
