So far, this book is interesting. The first chapters are about the trials, tribulations and successes of the people working for the red wolf program, as well as some of the wolves themselves. Chapter seven is covering the people living in the Ablemarle and their perceptions of the wolves and the recovery program.

I picked this one up to skim while waiting and ended up reading the first 18 pages.

I have only one peeve so far. The author seems knowledgeable, but falls for the "superiority of modern ways." Old (shamanism, magic, etc) = emotional, superstitious, not much to offer. New (from the Renaissance on) = rational, superior, the one true way.

It's been a while, Goodreads. So far, the author does a good job describing the area surrounding the Albemarle Peninsula, one of the places where red wolves were released into the wild. I was afraid it would be dry and somewhat academic, but I've been pleasantly surprised.

Oh, this book! It brings together the stars, Ancient Egyptian philosophy and thought all together. It is awesome so far!

Once I got out of the section based on the Buddhist principles, the book got to be much more interesting.

Yep. Enjoyable read, if a bit earnest and almost preachy in spots.

I first read this series back in the '90s, not long after it first came out. It's a good story, but there is something the bugs me a bit flitting about in the back of my mind as I read it. I don't know if it's that '90s earnestness ("you WILL accept this character! See! Not bad, not evil! He's just himself!") or it's just the way Mercedes Lackey writes.

Oh my god, this book! The dust jacket alone is awesome - the outside is just half of what it has to offer. All the letters, books within the book, illustrations...it is great so far!

A book that made me laugh in the acknowledgement section! What is the rest going to be like?

I haven't read the two before this one, but it's a good entertaining read. Rounded up from 3 1/2 stars.

This is a great novel so far!

Today was a mental health day and hoped this book would hold my attention. Considering I started it today and the page I'm on, I don't think that is a problem.

This one is hard to put down.
