I’ve seen some reviews saying this is super dark and spicy but they’ve literally done it once and it’s 70% in… WHERE IS THE SPICE, SHEILA?

Listen, it’s not fair that I started this book when I’m consumed by Heated Rivalry. I should really put it down before I let my obsession with those beautiful boys bias my review of this book. Kingfisher ain’t no Ilya and Shane.

I think I might have moved on from this type of writing, but I will always have a soft spot for these characters/books as they were one of my first reads in 2020.

Arggggh! I'm so conflicted cos I loved the first 3 and I don't think much has changed in the writing, characters or plot in this one but maybe reading Throne of Glass has just made me realise what a good fantasy book reads like... IDK

Might pause this for a bit. Even the smut isn't hitting it for me this time which is v sad

This was so good up to the point where the grumpy cowboy literally had a personality transplant and is now spouting poetry to the FMC... it's a bit much
