The conversation between two characters in the chapter I just finished could have happened in the comments section of an article in The Guardian or in someone’s BlueSky feed. I despaired a bit that contemporary feminism has still not adjusted its discourse and aims so many years later and continues to exclude and shame proletarian women.

Dragging. It’s a me-thing. Anyone who loves regency/Jane Austen novels would adore this.

If the rest of this book is just as good as the first 100 pages, this is gonna be a 5 star read. So glad this was the pick for the Victober group read this year.

If I read one more nonsensical simile, I am going to scream. There are so many that it must be intentional on the part of the author, but I can’t figure out what it means.
