I don’t remember Karin Slaughter bashing conservatives in previous books, Will Trent and Grant County. Pretty disappointing and distracting.

80%. I’m persevering but sheesh… it’s a slog.

I’m not giving up just yet but so far this hasn’t been a great reading experience. It’s difficult to take TMC seriously so I’m not really bonding. But, I’m a Klavan fan so I’ll persevere until I hit the wall.

I love Joe Abercrombie’s books. For some peculiar reason I haven’t been able to catch the wave with A Little Hatred. So, setting it aside for now but I’m confident I’ll return soon.

I’m enjoying this one but it really requires focused attention! I’ve had to go back a couple of times to reread a passage or chapter to make sure of who did what when. The characters are vividly drawn which I love.

I went in expecting Freida McFadden’s typical Lifetime movie of a book but she surprised me! It’s still a Lifetime movie in waiting but was totally fun! The twists and reveals genuinely surprised me. True, the 8-9 hours I spent on the book weren’t edifying but they were enjoyable and entertaining. For me, that’s worth four stars!

This is my 2nd reading having first read this novel in the mid 70’s. I absolutely loved the book as an 18 year old. I still enjoyed the book this time around but I was constantly aware of how innocent and naive I was at my first reading. I also found it interesting that Mr. Wouk told his tale very effectively without wallowing in the gore of the horrors of the time or offering gratuitous sexual details.
