Halfway through & she’s losing my interest. I need it to pick up & quickly at that.

Contrary to popular opinion, I like Carley Fortune’s books more than Emily Henry’s. I’m not big on reading romance but there’s something about her books that just draws me in.

Maybe it’s the summer lake setting or the tried & tested cliches but I’m always seated.

Left it halfway last time. Don’t remember shit anymore. But I bought a physical copy coz the cover simply called out to me so here we go again.

Started out too good. Set the expectations too high. Not sure if the last third of the book will live up to it.

In love with this book as of now.

The way this is literally the funniest book I’ve read all year. I’m so glad I’m ending this year with this book.

One thing about classic retellings: it reminds you why you loved the original.

In this case, I’ve had a heart-shattering realisation that I wanted to give Sidney Carton the world in a tale of two cities, and I want to give him the world & take away all his pain even more in this book.

HOLY SHIT WAR FLASHBACKS

I already have great expectations for this book since it claims to be a tale of two cities retelling. That’s one of my absolute favourite classics & so I’m excited for a fantasy twist to it.

I’m all over the place these days but I’m back to continuing this book after being MIA & I’m still so intrigued by everything that’s going on. Like I don’t trust ANY of these mfs.

I’m already shaking my head at Perseus’s fate
