While memories on this series may be vague, I do remember Scarlet and Wolf being my fav couple. To the point where I can actively recall searching for fanfics on them during COVID. So ofc, without a doubt, I’m excited to re-experience them. The traumatic point? Not so much. The enemies-to-lovers vibe I remember them giving? Absolutely!!

Oh we’re getting Wolf’s backstory. Hahaha yeah this is fs about to be some devastating shit. Homeboy is traumatized to the max at the start of Scarlet, but at least he finds some comfort in her presence. You’re telling me we’re about to find out about his journey before her? Yeesh, this one’s gonna hurt.

What do you mean there are even more novellas in the Lunar series?! Huh?! Please understand that this is taken as a very happy surprise. Surprise definitely first and foremost. But so happy to get new content!! However, the summary gives hints of Cinder’s devastating history before the mainline story so I don't know if I’m 100% ready for that.

Alright so why am I starting another read when I just started one yesterday? Because my dumbass forgot the current read at work. Sue me. But thinking positive, it does give me the chance to dive back into a world I’d sort of abandoned when I had been so close to the end. Fairytales meets dystopia? Yeah you know Imma eat that shit up.

Okay we are venturing back onto the boat of psychological thrillers. Admittedly, the past thriller-reads have been sub-par, but I’ve heard good things about this one and am hoping it satisfies that itch. This is my first Michaelides read and going into it hoping for the best.

Aight so the world is going to shit and I’d rather re-enter a fictional, disastrous world where there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Our real world? God only knows…

Full transparency here: a girl just wants a good old love story. Yes. I love when there’s mystery, fantasy, and mystical elements involved, but sometimes I need a love story with just love. And we’re talking about friends getting messy? Hahaha definitely trying not to manically laugh over here.

You know what specific bone I have to pick? The confusion between feminism and misandry. Too many people are labeling the hating of men as feminism. Thoughts of violence towards men is misandry. Thoughts of creating fair opportunities for all through the dismantling of the patriarchy is feminism. Have been dealing with a lot of rage towards the male sex recently, so why not indulge in a book that deals with misandry.

The world certainly knows Kyoshi is the Avatar. The world accepting her is a different story. Kurik was a surprise at the end of the last book, but past Avatars do make their presence known. However, Yun’s reappearance was so shocking. Did he miraculously survive a spirit’s full blown attack with just earthbending? Or is he related to the sudden spirit’s conflict that Kurik seems to appear to warn Kyoshi about.

The way I was supposed to read those years ago, but time really just slipped by because how am I just NOW getting to it. I think my favorite accidental official lore fact about Kyoshi is that the creators got the timeline wrong about her performing certain events, causing her just to have the longest lifespan of pretty much any Avatar. Anyways, I cannot wait to get into all the nitty-gritty details!!

While this season was a banger, it really doesn’t compare to the previous one. Yet it makes sense because we really did need to witness/feel the aftermath of such explosive and life-alternating events. This season gave the energy of the post canon stories of ATLA, where the world was learning how to recover after a war. Admittedly not on the same scale, but lives were changed and adjustments needed to be made.

Now this season is where shit got real. Like to the max. The direction was absolutely insane and devoured every single second. Therefore I HAVE to know what these creators were eating and drinking to have their creative juices flowing the way they were.

Alright. So WTF is happening?! Bryce is in Prythian. Hunt is a slave once more. Cormac is dead. So much is in disarray. But again…BRYCE IS IN PRYTHIAN!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I wanna know what’s happening and what’s gonna happen BUT I am honestly so scared to find out.

Being so honest, this was probably my least favorite season of the show. But that’s not to say that it wasn’t good. I mean its ending did push off for the next 2 seasons to be absolutely mind-blowing, so giving credit where credit is due. Obviously this season is veryyyy lore heavy so down to see what’s the inspo behind that.

At this point, I feel like I’ve ingested so much material about the production/making of ATLA that I’m just so excited to know more about the world building of TLOK. Like what was the thought process behind it, how did they decide on certain characters, and how they felt about integrating familiar families/places in the next step.

Ooooooo!!! Absolutely never one to say no to more lore drops. Seems like these stories are inner dispersed during the main canon timeline so I’m expecting some fun times to be had!

Seems like spirits and humans are battling out for space again (hence the term “turf wars” being in the title), which frankly makes sense cause it’s not like 100% of their conflict had been solved in the show. It was more like those who followed the practice of the Air Nomads were harmonious with the spirits, but not exactly everyone else. Especially the non-benders.

Alrighty so now that we’ve finished all stories pre/post ATLA cannon, it’s time to move onto The Legend of Korra. Because unlike the former, it doesn’t feel like this series got much lore expansion. Maybe I just missed any content that got released during and after the show but I didn’t see much of it. Therefore I’m stoked to dive right in.

I don’t know how it's properly identified but I’m just a sucker for learning the backstory of story/movie/show productions. I love knowing every single thought and intention that went behind every single part of every single scene. This will be the closing act of my lore exploration of Avatar The Last Airbender so it definitely feels such a bittersweet moment.

Will never to this day understand the hate Katara gets. Everyone goes on and on about wanting complex female characters. But guess what?! They absolutely couldn’t handle all the nuanced layers Katara brought so idk what they’re going off about. Anyways, I’m just glad to be getting to a story centered on Katara and very excited for this.

The time has come for me to re-start a read I had begun 4 years ago. I really don’t know/remember why I stopped. And honestly I really hope I don’t come to the same roadblock. Pleaseeeeee, praying to all heavens, let me finish this read because I could use some good escapism and I never kid about that.

First and foremost, yes this is a re-read. Why? Because I read this back near the end of 2020 and did not read the 2 books that have come out after. And I want to read those 2 books. But unfortunately I don’t remember much, therefore I need a refresher BIG TIME. Even though I somewhat know what to expect, I’m also fully expecting to bawl like a baby at the end. Again.

Look I think we all know very well by now that Uncle Iroh has game. As in he knows how to get down and I am so excited that his solo book is with that one hella hot bounty hunter from season 1 of the show. June. She was the definition of c*nt. She completely embodied that energy. C*nt wished it was June. Bottom line, this entry got her and Iroh’s tea. 2 unstoppable forces so you know it’s going to be a fun one.

Ooooo I am so ready to read what deviousness Evie is going to get up to in the absence of The Villain. Based on the summary it seems like Evie takes on the official title due to Trystan being out the picture (hopefully just temporarily), and excited to see how she makes the role her own.

Okay being completely transparent…I need a break from non-fiction. They’re certainly informative and make for good gossip. However I want a little whimsy in my life right now. I desire intrigue, action, and a read that has me going “omg no way” several times. And I believe this book fits that bill. At least according to its summary.

Look I’m not trying to announce any sort of message with the reading of this book. I am simply sating my curiosity. The start of this year sparked a certain pursuit of knowledge on how people think and function. This read will just be helping with that endeavor.

With my dating experience this was, without a doubt, inevitable. I mean sometimes you need a little help breaking old habits and cycles and maybe this book will be exactly that. Basically, don’t knock it till you try it and we’ll see what insights I’ll have learned by the end of this read.

Happy New Year to all and may it be a fruitful year. Yeah idk about resolutions cause life is going how I’ve dreamed of going from years ago, but I could honestly use some help with finding motivations and hardcore sticking to a schedule. So maybe we’ll have some ideas by the end of this read.

Ughhhh been craving some dark romance and what could satisfy me better than a Persephone-Hades trope with a little vampire twist. Haha do deliberate pun intended but this definitely seems right up my alley!!
