This is the last major story of the gang post show, the last plentiful canon events, and it all feels so bittersweet. Sure there’s technically more content, but no more of the omnibus’s that I have quickly come to love. Just gonna go cry in a corner, before I’ve even started this one.

If Ares is not the spy then I don’t know what I’m going to do. The hints from the previous three books have really made it seem that way. The summary is hinting at some major betrayal that’s going to go down, and with this author’s writing style I just know she’s going to make it hurt.

In the previous entry, Katara and Soka were noticeably absent as they were set on finally returning to the South Pole. AKA home. From the title of this installment, clearly something is up with their sister nation.

Can’t tell from the summary if we’re still going to have Millie as a protagonist. Or really anyone from the first book. Now that I know the level of thriller McFadden can provide, I am so ready to get my mind twisted and then just sit in silence as I try to understand what I just read.

We are back on the ATLA post show lore accumulation train!! Looks like we got Azula back in the plot so obviously looking forward to seeing what she’s doing. God I really could consume so much post show cannon content.

Been seeing this on BookTok since the beginning of the year and so glad to finally be getting to it. Bought it online on ThriftBooks for a really good deal. If I like it, I'm definitely gonna get the rest of the series.

Not even kidding when I say that the summary straight up sounds like a Hindi tv drama plotline. But in the best way possible. That’s because while this book is about 300 pages long, that Indian plotline would probably run for over a year’s worth of episodes (btw there’s 5 episodes that come out per week). So definitely excited to see another remarkable story from Reid.

Did I know the early 2000s movie phenomenon was based on a movie?! Nope. Was I super excited to find out and get the chance to read a novel based on that time period and get really excited about it? Absolutely!!

I had no idea they made my favorite show ever into a book format!!! Eeeeekkkkkk!!! I really hope they do it justice and capture every moment and emotion that made this show hold nothing but magical nostalgia!!

Ali Hazelwood really said, I’m going to make age-gaps, where the woman is younger than the male, hot again. If the woman has plenty of life experience under her belt, then I see no quandary. But homegirl doesn't have a fully developed frontal lobe yet enters a relationship with a man who could've been her teenage father. Going to try to enjoy this book for what it is but we'll see.

Ooooo so we’re getting a taste of the spirit world. With no major plot line in the og series, also supporting ones, it makes sense to me that we’re getting the start of our familiarity with the spirit world.

Oooooo so it looks like we’re getting a whole lotta Zuko tension here. Not exactly saying that I like seeing our boy struggle, but angsty Zuko has always been a thing. And I know there’s a good chunk of people out there that can agree with me. And based on the summary, this story is where I assume the birth of Republic City comes from. Or at least the idea of it.

I think it goes without saying that we all were in awe of how strong Suki’s spirit was when she was put in Boiling Rock. With the front cover showing the spirit of Kyoshi right before her, we can kinda assume what was going on. But obviously I still wanna know the whole story.

Did I immediately start this after an impromptu Half-Price Books trip and haul?! Absolutely yes!! HAHA as if there was any other realistic answer. I’ve seen partial images from online posts but I'm super excited to see everything for myself!!

Gonna slow things down with a romcom set in a more realistic setting. Seems to be some “cougar action” going on, which if you know you know is something I find absolutely hilarious right now. Based on the summary it’s the elder woman fighting to keep the younger man in her way of life, which I find refreshing due to the fact that everything about the setup is usually reversed so this may be a breath of fresh air.

The only story I know that has a setting in Alaska is Son of Neptune, which is to say that I have basically no experience with this frontier. Based on the summary it seems that the story hits a turning point in line with the changing seasons, where it turns from fish out of water to psychological thriller.

You’re telling me I get to read an entire book from Kai’s perspective. Shut up! Yeah heaven is calling and I’m running to accept!!! At least that’s what’s promised. Now there’s this Mara character, someone I have no idea of but I guess we’re gonna keep chugging alone because there’s no way I wouldn’t indulge.

The fact that Queen Charlotte’s whole entire character did not exist in the Bridgerton universe until the show is actually so crazy to me. So it goes without saying that I have to read the written format of her story, even if it might just be a regurgitation of what happened on the single season of its show.

Alright so we got Jesse and Viola agreeing to at least try things…which is honestly more than what you can expect in today’s day and age. Where everyone’s a commitment-phobe and trying something new is beyond their capability. Yet still having the gall to complain about how dull life is will always be fascinating to me. So again, shoutout to these two for at least trying.

Really don’t know if there’s a better feeling than a guy not only liking reading, but liking the same types of books as you. Sounds simple, but is so goddamn rare. And I think this is the first time Hazelwood has referenced this sort of troupe and I am here for it!!

Based on the summary I’m expecting flashbacks, time jumps, mutual pining, heartache, and a whole lot of miscommunication. Heavy on that last one, because when two people who are so obviously meant for each other but can’t quite seem to connect after years have literally passed, it more often than not comes down to a bunch of misunderstandings.

Okay so the summary says that Elspeth and Ravyn are the ones to go on the adventure of finishing the Alder Deck…but last I remember Elspeth is gone because of the Nightmare taking over. Yeah, remember that little problem? So either the summary is side-stepping that whole issue to give us false hope, or thankfully a solution will indeed be found to get Elspeth back in her own headspace and the Nightmare out.

Happy that Viola and Jesse get to play house a little bit longer. Not at all surprised that their coworkers are lowkey catching on that something is going on; they can’t put their finger on exactly what’s going on but they definitely suspect something.

Snaps. So many snaps for a guy who prioritizes a girl over his sexual needs. Very sad that it needs to be said but it’s very indicative of today’s times. I mean they both very much got it on right after so it’s a win-win all around.

Spicy action indeed ensued post hot tub time. Very, very obvious that Viola is down to get down in every dirty possible way, while Jesse is the one holding the reins and slowing them down. And I think I prefer it that way, as things can get awkward, or even dangerous, when the girls try to slow down an eager guy.

Viola wants sex; at least a friends-with-benefits situation it seems. Jesse wants a relationship; yes he wants sex but he wants the companionship with specifically Viola too. Haha this is totally gonna end so well.

Sorry I missed the announcement of the Hot Tub scene from To All The Boys I’ve Loved entering this book. Though there are no real complaints from me. It seems to have been cut short, right at the precipice of action, but unlike the movie it seems this book has plans to continue to events in privacy.

Not the miscommunication trope! Literally the bane of my existence. You’re telling me that Viola and Jesse could’ve been getting it on years ago, but didn’t because Jesse thought he had asked her out when Viola hadn’t even interpreted their conversation anywhere near that realm?! Doesn’t matter how booksmart the guy is, when it comes to anything about the opposite gender…they just blunder the whole thing so badly.

Actually wild of Viola to directly confront Jesse on his jealous bout and drunk confession. She’s more bold and brave than I could ever dream to be. Jesse saying she should know why he couldn’t ask her out, going so far as to call her cruel for it, does have me confused though.
