Whilst this is much better than book 2, Anoor is still so frustrating to me. Her development in book 2 was not strong enough to justify her character choices and development in this book, and she is so painfully naive in a way she wasn’t even in book 1. Every other POV has seen a major improvement at least

Already a massive improvement on book 2!

The second half of this book already feels so much stronger than the first, which I’m so glad about. It’s still quite messy with maybe just a bit too much going on for the page count to handle, but I’m glad I’m enjoying this a bit more now

The worldbuilding of this series is so fascinating, but the books as a whole are still quite messy, and I’m not a fan of how the POVs are shifting in this one (why did we not get to see weeks of Anoor’s investigations??)

I didn’t expect it, but this honestly might turn out to be a 5⭐️ read for me. This is just such a perfect sequel and I’m obsessed

Not quite sure how I managed to read so much of this in one sitting this morning, but I’m loving this so much. It’s just as hooking as book one, with funny moments, but it’s also a deeply moving, respectful, and poignant exploration of grief and trauma that is very hard-hitting and beautifully done. I’m so glad this sequel exists

I really like so far the darker, mental health exploration, and political angle this sequel is taking! The politics in particular is something I wished for more of in book 1!

Rereading this is really making me want to read more from Lex Croucher! I often struggle with humour in books (I’m dreadful at picking up on jokes) but I really like their sense of humour!

I’m really enjoying this reread! I’m glad to find that this book is just as cute and fun the second time around
