I just think Naomi Novak’s writing is the perfect balance of character and plot and world building for me

If you read this because you think it’s horror (me) you are in for a wild ride

Do I think Dr. Pou cares about her patients? Yes I do. Do I think that she prematurely euthanized these people? Also yes.

The haunted house stuff is pretty light but the mommy issues are heavy af

I fear “Old sport” is, in the future, going to send me into a rage spiral

This book is kind of boring until suddenly a man is starting a new conversation every sentence and is very proud of his human teeth cuff buttons

I can see why a high schooler might find this a hard read

The CFO in the recliner with the tv and soup while the patients die from heat exhaustion on the floor is a diabolical detail

The way I am pushing myself through this book… also, it’s a terrible story telling method to describe the exact thing that’s going to happen in the next chapter with the excerpts from the translated books. Suspense the fuck who.

Benedict is without a doubt my favorite character because he at least is interesting. Oh and Charles, always.

I don’t know…I don’t dislike these books but have just been so underwhelmed by the whole series…

I’m sorry??? Did this woman’s husband just abuse her while she’s in a plaster cast and dying of radium poisoning because she wouldn’t give him her settlement money???? Now I am screaming.

The radium companies are fucking villains. I can’t BELIEVE the shit they get away with. They agree to an autopsy with an impartial doctor and then do it an hour before he arrives and steal all this girls bones and send a report to the radium company and not her family and lie about everything. I am going to fucking scream.
