So I haven't been doing updates.... I accidentally deleted my comments from the two previous books and I was really sad about it. So I wasn't in the mood for progress notes this time around. But dude, now we're copying Ella Enchanted's plot twist.... that's just sad....

Doubling back to Lavendera for a minute. She's either a high ranking rebel or one of the rebel leaders, it can never be her because she has to keep a record of the trials and the winners.

The thing is a collar and the status is 'pet'

You know what would be gorgeous. If this was like lavenderia's 6th or 7th time attempting the trials, she makes it to the final every single time. But right when she's about to win, she always lets someone surpass her. Maybe she was the original first winner and this is her punishment, or she was one of the Riders maybe. This is her sisyphean task, to be damned to do the trials every time but never be free or escape.

All that and we're not going to get oral stimulation or "adjusting" to his massive size😒

"We'll meet up at the river" "The river is miles long! Which part of the river?!" "THE WET PART!!" Might be the singularly redeeming line of this entire book.

Also I've been mesning to say this for several chapters, since the first time Draven mentioned noone should be in the trails... its because winning doesn't get you the freedom you think it does. Instead you likely get pimped out for the dragons amusement and pleasure. Think Finnick in Hunger Games.... again.... Suzanne Collins should sue.....

I've been waiting for the Divergent beat down scene where big dark and broody saves the little girl...... Veronica Roth should also sue....

Self pity pep talk/rant🤮 her clothes mysteriously go missing🤮 every single moment of this book is so cliche and trope-y that it's just painful to read.....

....and there's the cornucopia.... btw were at 2x speed. I am now hate reading because I need to understand how this book is so highly rated.... I need cross tabs, is it mostly 22 and under who rated it highly, is there just an entire generation that hasn't read the Hunger Games?? I might even jump to 3x at points just to get it over with.... how is this series 5 books?!!?!
