Halfway through the book, I was pretty indifferent about the characters, but now at 59%, I actually despise the hero and so frustrated that the heroine won’t just tell the goddamn truth. It’s dragged on for so long, I don’t even care if she does at this point. It’s making the story slow and boring.

The two leads are really annoying right now and the heroine needs to start speaking up. I get it. She’s had a life of hiding, clearly not knowing the truth about who she is, but this meekness is wearing thin. And the whole veil thing just makes me think of a different series with a different character who I have come to hate and I can’t keep that comparison out of my head.

I didn’t realize how much of this book would just be things she had put in previous newsletters that were free via email. I’m hoping there’s some exclusive book content coming up but so far it’s just a rerun of things I’ve already read.

I’m pretty sure I’ve cried during every chapter of this book so far. Happy tears, bittersweet tears. It’s emotional revisiting all the characters we’ve gotten to know. Not quite sure how I’m going to survive the second half of this book.

This book, the characters, the story is so damn delightful. I have laughed out loud many times and I love it when a book surprises me.

I love the humor in this book. The back-and-forth is great between the FMC and MMC.

Why am I tearing up at the little fox giving a pinecone gift? He needs to be protected at all costs.

It feels like things are moving at a glacial pace, and I say that coming off the scorpion scene. It’s just a bit boring so far.

Seems to be a pretty big error on this page. I get it things happen but just thinking about how many people read this book before it actually got published and missed it?

Stupid, stupid girl.

The hardest character to like in this book is the FMC. I just want to shake her and say open your eyes dummy and quit slamming the damn wall down on your bond.

There’s something off about Killian. Like he’s fine but Stark, that’s who I would rather have more of on page. Also, if she slams down the wall in the bond one more time, I want Anessa to just sever it.

Every time I read the name Stark, I immediately think of Tony Stark 😂 I imagine that will change the farther along I get, but it makes me laugh.

I did take me a few chapters to lock-in, I mean both the FMC and MMC kill people - I had a moment of wait...am I supposed to get on board with this?! But the story is coming together and I've laughed more than I expected.

I’m so glad I waited to read this book because I’m 99% sure it’s going to end in way that’ll leave me wanting so much more and book 2 now releases in just a few weeks.

It took a few chapters but I'm fully hooked into this story. It's an interesting world, the setup is intriguing and I'm excited to ready more. It's been awhile since I've had a book capture my attention like this.

Uhhhhhh so she’s just taking over his house? I find this whole chapter incredibly offputting. She’s literally taking over his place.

And I’m sorry, but why is the author so insistent on writing the characters talking with their mouth full of food? It was cute one time in book one but multiple times in every book, over it.

Maybe I expected more from Adam with how he was written in the first couple of books but why are we halfway through and he still hasn’t told her that he plays hockey. I get why initially but she’s opened up about everything and yet here we are.

She’s always put in a lot of Slann and pop culture references, but it feels exceptionally more in this. On one page there were a bunch of The Office references followed quickly by a marvel universe shout out. It’s taking me out of the story. That’s all I can focus on.

Both the FMC and MMC are pretty unlikable to this point. I need to care about one or both of them and they’re giving me nothing to care about. I’m not ready to stop yet so we’ll see…

10% in, really? It’s not even about how early it is in the book. These two characters have had like two very short encounters and this is what’s happening now?.

I'm struggling with this book. It's just not hooking me, I find it very easy to put down and yet I want to just finish it. It's such a short book, I should have read this in 2 total hours.

If he keeps calling her cookie, that might do it for me. Like DNF do it for me.

It’s kind of reading like fanfiction. Pretty basic dialogue. I’m on the edge of deciding if I’m going to keep going or not.

Omg. This is why I haven’t liked an MQ book in quite a while. She writes FMC’s that I absolutely hate. Although this is a new one. I started out, actually liking the FMC, but within the span of two chapters I actually can’t stand this woman.

And here we go. The slow downward slide of the FMC, like why do you have to make me not like you?

It has been quite a while since an MQ book had me wheezing from laughing so hard, which is exactly what happened during the therapist scene at the beginning of this book. I can only hope that it maintains throughout the whole book.

And my God, the amount of information that has been dumped chapter after chapter after chapter. I’m trying so hard to keep it straight, but it’s tough going right now.

Am I supposed to hate Bryce? because the things that she is saying and doing leave me feeling nothing but hatred toward her.

WTF Bryce, are you dense? Do you not get with these people are saying about the Fae and you being a leader? Is it me or is she written very different in this book?…
