Damn this book is depressing.

Luther needs to just walk away from her at this point. Just when I think she can’t make an even stupider decision she does.

I get that one of Diem’s main characteristics is her compassion and how she wants to try to lead without killing but my God girl sometimes there are characters that need killing. she’s got to start putting down the baddies.

I have a positive update! While I’m ready for this group of 4 to make their way back home, I’m enjoying the four of them together on this adventure.

Here we go again. She’s still making the absolute worst decisions. I should be numb to it by now but here I am reading book 3…

Just when I think she can’t be any more stupid.

You may be wondering why I’m still reading this with all of my hateful updates. Luther, is why. Taran, is why. Literally every other character is well written.

Run. Run Luther! Find another nice FMC in a different book series because Diem ain’t it. I hope there’s some big twist coming that’s going to make me eat all of my update words, but I can’t remember the last time an FMC was this unlikable.

I feel like I’m going to keep posting the same update, but thank God for the supporting characters, they are carrying the story. Diem is the worst.

At this point, I’m just hoping Diem does just one smart thing. She is doubting all of the right people and trusting all the wrong ones. It’s painful.

It’s a good thing I’m really enjoying all of the supporting characters. They’re carrying this for me right now.

OMG barf.

I really don’t want this to turn into a hate read because I did enjoy book one, but Diem is so gullible, my god. Stop believing everything you’re told.

FFS. If I read “I’m mortal” one more time. Girl, you got a flaming crown over your head, quit living in denial or being stupid, hard to tell at this point.

I really need Diem to wake the hell up, open her eyes and become likable. Right now she’s a healer who is betraying vows that were apparently very important to her. And I don’t like Henri.

I’m trying to take my time and savor the story because it’s so good but shit just got real and it’s really hard to put the book down.

I am HOOKED!

Had no idea Goodreads was going to put every single DNF update from a tag to the new shelf on the activity feed. 🙄 Sorrrrry.

When does Emmy get likable? The way she’s treating the captain of her team, I’d be telling her to shut up. She is a new player called up to the NHL and is doing everything but actually try to be a part of the team. Damn annoying at this point.

Halfway through the book, I was pretty indifferent about the characters, but now at 59%, I actually despise the hero and so frustrated that the heroine won’t just tell the goddamn truth. It’s dragged on for so long, I don’t even care if she does at this point. It’s making the story slow and boring.

The two leads are really annoying right now and the heroine needs to start speaking up. I get it. She’s had a life of hiding, clearly not knowing the truth about who she is, but this meekness is wearing thin. And the whole veil thing just makes me think of a different series with a different character who I have come to hate and I can’t keep that comparison out of my head.

I didn’t realize how much of this book would just be things she had put in previous newsletters that were free via email. I’m hoping there’s some exclusive book content coming up but so far it’s just a rerun of things I’ve already read.

I’m pretty sure I’ve cried during every chapter of this book so far. Happy tears, bittersweet tears. It’s emotional revisiting all the characters we’ve gotten to know. Not quite sure how I’m going to survive the second half of this book.

This book, the characters, the story is so damn delightful. I have laughed out loud many times and I love it when a book surprises me.

I love the humor in this book. The back-and-forth is great between the FMC and MMC.

Why am I tearing up at the little fox giving a pinecone gift? He needs to be protected at all costs.

It feels like things are moving at a glacial pace, and I say that coming off the scorpion scene. It’s just a bit boring so far.

Seems to be a pretty big error on this page. I get it things happen but just thinking about how many people read this book before it actually got published and missed it?

Stupid, stupid girl.

The hardest character to like in this book is the FMC. I just want to shake her and say open your eyes dummy and quit slamming the damn wall down on your bond.

There’s something off about Killian. Like he’s fine but Stark, that’s who I would rather have more of on page. Also, if she slams down the wall in the bond one more time, I want Anessa to just sever it.

Every time I read the name Stark, I immediately think of Tony Stark 😂 I imagine that will change the farther along I get, but it makes me laugh.
