This is a very good read so far! I am loving the illustrations in the edition I am working with as well!

Loved the "doctor who" name/title drop at the end of the last chapter I read lol!

Honestly I’m really enjoying reading this book! the Christian undertones/allegory is certainly there in the text but it’s no where near as heavy handed as its reputation would have you believe!

A perfectly well written and readable classic children’s fantasy novel so far!

One more chapter to go! So far I can honestly understand why the whole “fairies enchantments/feuds” details towards the end of this novel were dropped from basically every movie and tv adaptation of beauty and the beast going forward but still a good read overall! I am glad I am almost done reading it!

Only two more chapters left to go and I am done! Very good so far! The chapter I just read has elements in it that I don’t think any of the film adaptations of this story ever use/adapt!

So far I’m really loving this book even if it can feel a bit overly wordy in its prose yet also very simplistic at times! That being said I’ve just reached the chapter where the beast tells his backstory! That should be good!

This is very dreamlike so far I’m loving it!

The beast has an elephant like trunk in the text of this version! sadly the illustrations in this edition of the book go for more of a standard furry beast with a snout so far but I’m still really enjoying reading this!
