This book was published in 1939. The journey of workers moving from Oklahoma because the crops are not producing and their lands have been confiscated, to California where work is supposed to be plentiful. The way these workers, who wanted only to work hard and feed their families, were treated- it’s still happening. Shameful that this book remains current

Excellent writing by King - first short story- Two Talented Bastids, keeps you engaged, never quite sure where the story will lead or how it will end. Will Patton does an excellent narration.

Two Talented Bastids- excellent. Stephen King writing is excellent. He weaves a story that you can’t stop listening to and never know quite how it will end. Narrator is outstanding.

I often will speed up an audiobook if the narrator is too slow. This is the first audiobook I’ve ever had to slow down.

Better read with your eyes.

I'm struggling. This book is well written. I think I have chosen the wrong time to listen to it. I've extended my check out from the library but have to admit, it's a struggle to make myself listen. Not the author - I think it's the listener!

I’m listening and it’s so good

Did not finish listening before returning to library - audio version. Interesting, different. Short stories - some very amusing, others a little bizarre. Worth a listen.
