Level 2 baby!

So far so good. Light on the sci-fi but heavy on the mystery.

I want a book that's just the second age. By far the most interesting sections in any of the books.

Still don't like the stimulation machine chapters. God I hope they end soon.

Love the Kott parts. The simulation machine bits are a drag. I didn't care for it in the last book, still not a fan of it here.

Im getting the sinking feeling it's going to be a lot more than of the shit I hated in the 3rd book.

Child care be expensive and there's no real fix to the problem.

Canadian Natives are YIMBY pilled!

Mixed use zoning is really important. Having friends and people in your social circle that span income levels is important for upward mobility.

Lump of Labor fallacy, now with AI!

Not even through the first chapter and this is airway heading to the DNF pile. Very repetitive and not very convincing. But maybe it's not supposed to be? Book just assumes from the start that rent is evil and landlords exist to pray upon the poor, and all of capitalism is about keeping renters oppressed.

Few quick thoughts; some interesting connections to modern AI, population in the distant future of the 2040's was right to be 3 billion, extravagant cost of a robot is $30k and the largest company in existence wouldn't dream of risking $2M

Themes are starting to get a little repetitive

Gig work chapter left a bit to be desired. Wish they covered more of the stats behind the personal stories with how relevant it is these days

Opportunity costs and remote work.

Done with part one. Nice little intro to the basics of economics. Im running into the problem i was expecting; of your already a frequent listener of Planet Money, there's nothing new in the book.

Nice quick little tours into economic ideas.

The stuttering effect they're using for the demon syter is making the audio book unlistenable

Only complaint right now is that the book is a little too horney

If you didn't know any better, you might think Rand was writing satire.

I guess we're going to get another trial chapter? Maybe a little less cringe this time?
Also getting some strong "kiss your hommies goodnight vibes"

These are just the most absurd strawmen ever put to paper.
