Not even through the first chapter and this is airway heading to the DNF pile. Very repetitive and not very convincing. But maybe it's not supposed to be? Book just assumes from the start that rent is evil and landlords exist to pray upon the poor, and all of capitalism is about keeping renters oppressed.
