This book is beautiful, but has put me in the absolute worst reading slump 🫠

I went into this expecting a thriller. Over 50% has been romance/slice of life type vibe. I definitely read with wrong expectations, but somehow, it's not meeting standards of any possible route author tried to take, even after the expectation check. So disappointing.

Absolute Rollercoaster.

Enjoying this much less than the first book. Don't love the monsters near as much this go around, and everything just feels so slow going, plots and relationships alike.

Very fast read, really wish that I would've not binged Coates books. Extremely similar in vibes to House of Shadows, minus the romance element.
