Had to bring in the audiobook for a hybrid read on this one, as—despite being hooked by the plot and characters—the pacing was straight-up destroying my interest.

Been struggling with this one. My head hasn’t been in it and the pacing is not great.

Just a few chapters to get a feeling for it. I love a good coming-of-age story—especially those set in this time period (the ‘70s)—so I’ve got some high hopes for this one.

I purposely went into this as blind as humanly possible, so I had no expectations. Yet somehow this is about as far away from what I expected as humanly possible. I officially have ZERO idea where this is headed.

For no real reason—since I’m quite intrigued by the premise—I had trouble getting into this one in the first few chapters. So, I’ve opted to go for a hybrid read, borrowing the audiobook from Hoopla.

Wait! Is science… interesting?!?!

Maybe I’m twelve, but “WATNEY: Look! A pair of boobs! -> (.Y.)” is the hardest I’ve laughed at a book in a long time.

Holy shit that’s a fuck-ton of science. Awesome.

Only got a bit in because I quickly became distracted by Special Agent Gary Callahan’s fight for his life and the Season Finales of Shrinking, High Potentjal and Best Medicine. Oops.

It’s really good so far, though, even though the horror has yet to hit.
