The opening of this book very well may be one of the most stunning pieces of writing I’ve ever read. I probably read it half a dozen times before continuing on.

I wasn’t kidding when I said I’d be diving right into this one. Super uneasy mood so far. Not as unsettling or creepy as The Caretaker was at this point, but super uneasy.

The overall atmosphere is… ::shivers:: and the “VHS” chapter freaked me the f*ck out. So yeah, I’m SUPER excited to see what this has lurking in its shadows.

The Lunch Break feels like an outtake. A side quest of sorts in a larger narrative. But it’s likable and set in the world of filmmaking and written cinematically, so I enjoyed it quite a bit.

True Story was fun. Two wise guys telling stories over breakfast. A really entertaining look into mafia myth-building, both in terms of events and people.

The North Wing is okay. A good exploration of the stupid things we do for family. I’m personally not going that far for a cousin, but to each their own.

Only one story again… The Sunday List is a pretty damn great coming-of-age story about the lessons we learn from those we unwillingly meet in our lives.

Only got the first story in because last night staring at my wall blankly seemed the more fascinating route. ‘The Final Score’ was enjoyable enough, but extremely light with little to no stakes and a putting the team together montage that kept me thinking of Rick and Morty... “You son of a bitch… I’m in!”

I did the Introduction & Translator’s Note, so despite getting in ~60 pages, I’m now officially on page one.

A mixed bag of flash-fiction. Nothing amazing but several have been a good deal of fun.
