Living this book so far! Good science communication is the best!

So far this book is flat out not as good as the first two. The romance is as always meh. I can usually roll my eyes and move on but it feels more pervasive and just overall more annoying. It may just be because I’m still so early in the story but I need the plot to pick up and get rolling.

Very thoroughly researched and detailed. It’s equally fascinating and terrifying to think about the flow of events of a world ending decision. It’s one thing to think about nuclear deterrence conceptually, it’s entirely different to think through exactly how the checks we rely on are easily subverted by fear, misinformation, and ego.

Very chilling.

The characters are fleshed out but I’m losing the thread on what’s actually happening.
