This was a thrift find for me. I’d not heard of this author. I’m really grateful to have stumbled upon it. Although it’s a sad story I think it encourages kindness and empathy in an unfeeling world. This played like a black and white film in my head as I read it. There is much left unsaid, unresolved. True to life.
