guh the parallels in hindley and heathcliff when he was a child. the cycle of generational trauma is scary

i feel like heathcliff begging cathy to haunt him, to never find peace until he can join her in the afterlife, and begging her to drive him mad in a way that he could at least always find her whilst claiming that she is his soul that he cannot live without is the heart of this story. they are so deeply intertwined and it def goes back to the whole “our souls are the same” thing cathy says earlier
