Oooof I didn‘t expect this to hit this hard — from „we can never be cause I‘m straight“ and all, next thing it‘s a near death experience, and just like that, there is only one tent Naomi would like to enter. Plotwise, not totally convincing but the pull of the sensuality and all them layers to Ryn‘s experience of the world make up for it. I kinda don‘t want this to end.

I‘m not so sure I like the heavy kafkaesque meaningfullness here

Such an eerie feeling about this last(?) story it‘s giving me the creeps but in a delightful way — never expected this to be a so gothic(!): a dark forest, strange occurences, a looming somebody.

The postering job was such a thriller! It’s really the darkest story so far. Didn‘t expect it but enjoyed it immensely. Also, the dry humour really comes to shine in this one. I‘m very thankful to the translators for preserving this. The protagonist‘s inner monologue had me laughing out loud!

It‘s such an interesting tale - once you‘re good at your job, things become complicated as your creation leaves your circle of influence, but not having any ambition is just as impossible.

I don‘t even like rice crackers but I sure want them now!

I loved seeing Camilla again, and Palamedes. "I'm sorry" [that you became a Lyctor], he says. Also, Nav as a poster boy for BOE? There was no rock to be rolled away in the first place?

Finally, we get some clues on what went down after Canaan house. I‘m happy to see these are suggesting that the events of Gideon were real after all. Which of my many theories will fit? I will say, up to this point the book is comparatively low on action. We spent most of the time in the Mithraeum and in alternate realities. It will be interesting to see if it picks up in the last third. Time to unpack!

At 20%, I was utterly confused but hooked. Now I‘m still very much confused and kind of waiting for the plot to thicken - some revelations pleaasee?
