Pleasant surprise with this being set in Chapel Hill.

I am really enjoying this. I’ve wanted to hop on the bandwagon and read this already, so I’ve caved to listening to it, as I don’t have a copy yet. I’m glad I opted to listen. I think in doing so I can catch the dry wit weaved within this impeccably detailed writing better with the narrator’s inflections. I think without this is why the wit is lost on some people (I’ve read some poor reviews).

This has gotten better. Those first 30 pages were grueling to get through tbh.

Two years ago I began reading this book but never finished it. Picking it up again I wondered why I never did since it’s so short.

Now I remember. Long winded sentences about teenage boy grossness.

I fear a DNF is in the future but I’ll try. It is good writing! Just long ass streams of consciousness that are grody.

Only on page nine and this book has the longest, most detailed packed sentences I’ve ever read. One sentence went on for a page and a half.
