I am really enjoying this one. Narrator is good and so is the story.

HOWEVER. Rusty pisses me off. Imagine a man kills your wife, shoots your eldest daughter, buries her alive, and attempts to rape your youngest daughter, and you still feel the need to defend him? Are there no other lawyers in the world? Why do men even bother having children

I’m giving Karin slaughter another chance bc people seem to love her

So far this one is better than the last, but we’ll see

I think that the two women are supposed to be like criminal masterminds but… they just do not seem smart enough SORRY

the daughter can’t even decide what to order in a diner (despite being 31) and the mother seems to lowkey be in a cult and keeps questioning the leader but never seems to quite get the point.

Idk but they’re gonna have to really pull through in the next 30%

Two things to report:

1. This man has a weird obsession with scalps and ‘scalpy’ essences.
2. He constantly talks about he is better than other people which I get is part of his character but how can you be so delusional? You are a man with no money, no prospects, no career, you’ve abandoned families, killed people, etc. reminds me of Lauren from mafs talking about class whilst wearing see through lace pants

The MMC makes my skin crawl. I hope he faces a violent death.

Good but slow so far

Eh. Malik seems lame. If I have to hear about how he almost had a footy career one more time I might scream

quick fire predictions:
- Frank is dead (killed in the car accident)
- tony is somehow a fraud (don’t know why I feel this way, his writing career seems too good to be true)
- Mimi will become an alcoholic or just generally have a problem with alcohol

Provided the ending isn’t complete garbage, this is going to be a 5 star for me, easy

Kinda waiting for something to happen but I also know that nothing is going to. It’s a very meditative kind of book. Also reminds me a lot of grandma - the religion and the farm. The mouse plague just makes me remember school, and how scared I’d been that first night after they’d told us about it. I swear I could feel them on me.
