Do I like police procedural books???

I’m remembering why I limit self help books 😬 the saving grace is the reader has a smooth voice, v easy to listen to!

This book takes place in Riverside and Perris which I LOVE!!! They’re referencing places and I’m able to picture them so vividly! The main character is the older sister and she’s part of Homeland Security and now has to protect her younger, slightly estranged sister.
The author gives us the POV of the older sister and the criminal.

Finally getting answers to all the questions!

Is this book just gonna be sad the whole entire time 😭

I’m pretty certain that I just started a book about a husband getting lost in the wilderness RIGHT before my husband spends a weekend in the wilderness 🫠

Started off with a podcast dialogue between 2 best friends - promising!

If this pace keeps up itll be a 5 star ringer!

It’s about an Indian family - so that’s always fun! I don’t have much experience with Indian people/culture so it’s like being a fly on the wall to a totally new culture - except the fly is super detail oriented, picks up on every little nuance, and misses nothing!

I thought having a large group of main characters was gonna annoy me but Ive learned them fairly quickly. It helps that the chapters are broken up by character. I’ve got my eye on a few suspects but I feel like this gonna bounce around a lot. Good book so far!

I’m loving the writing style of this book! It flows so naturally, the back & forth conversation and internal dialogue. It makes it really easy to visualize everything.
This may be the short novel that changes my mind about short novels!

I wish I would’ve skipped the prologue…seems good so far tho.

The most unique book I’ve ever read - writing style and genre!

🤨 < my face reading this book cause it seems like it’s gonna be all smut…this what I get for judging books by their covers. I wanted murder 🙄 there’s still time tho! The plain, let-herself-go wife can still flip a 180° and handle business - honestly rooting for a double homicide if this husband don’t start actin right!

A romcom from the males perspective - I’m intrigued!

It’s just so hard to relate to domestic violence characters that don’t stand up for themselves…because the swiftness in which I’d be going to jail 😅 these hands would get their own passport with all the flyin they’d be doin!
Also, I find myself saying “that’s not realistic” quite a bit.
It’s well written but storyline is a bit cheesy to me. Like so many issues could be solved with a conversation

Could be a banger!!!
