Done with book 1! definitely see the doctor who ness of it all. to get the most out of it, i do think that you'd need to just accept that there are oddities and parts of the book/world that you will not understand, and that you are just like arthur dent. a mere human who is along for the ride. but! amusing and fun nonetheless, to read about their adventures.

This is so poetic, I love the metaphors they string together and the way they describe certain things. Getting good

I want visuals, I want details, I want More. Though the gaps can be filled in with my imagination, I guess.

Very accessible. Will probably convince me to try meditation. This is a slim book that I will consume slowly on the train.

about 3/4 of the way done. how is this going to end!!! oh i love a dramatic tale. i find her time in america to be the most interesting, as she is confronted with culture shock and trying to refind herself in a completely new environment.

Amy Ly is on page 100 of 192 of The Knowledge Deficit: Closing the Shocking Education Gap for American Children – Why Curriculum Matters: Essential Tools for Parents and Teachers to Build Reading Comprehension
guessing I'm about 100 pages in and it's very interesting how their main argument is focusing on the need for a diverse knowledge base ("background knowledge") in order for students to be able to become better readers and learners. It then begs the question of what's worthy of being taught at schools, which is...a very controversial issue probably.

How will this end? Also - I want to play the games that they produce in the book...is Mapletown supposed to be Maplestory? My memory is foggy but there are certainly similarities...

I am simply devouring this book. I'm enjoying the relationship dynamic over the course of several years as they develop their first and second games. It scratches a simple itch in my brain -- I've missed relatable fiction. Sam is very relatable. To me at least.

It's so far very easy to read. I can deff relate to both of the main characters. Also fun to know the geography of the area and know the streets that are referenced in the Harvard/MIT area :)
