Kinda fell off this one. Had no idea where I left off. Slowly it returns to me. Maybe I’m getting a little fatigued from this series? I seem to either really like one of the books or really dislike the books. I’ll stick with it tho.

I cannot stop thinking about one of the reviews under this that was disappointed that this book wasn’t smut and then gave it three stars but first fifty pages are like an intro and history which is fun

Lots of very strong historical groundwork laid down. I’m sure this will be very helpful in later chapters when connecting with more modern points of contention. Seems to be very focused on one Hadith that sets precedent for discouraging female prescience in politics which has been explained very clearly

This book reads like a scathing yelp review about lestat. Claudia is my saving grace.

Doing this one as an audiobook. I mean maybe I need to read the first book again but this book just feels Morrissey levels of preachy. Totally unnecessary follow up with the most occasional glimpse of fan service that makes this book slightly easier to bear. Reheating nachos.

Such a painful read idk how I liked the first one so much. Each turn of the page feels like I am grinding my teeth down with sandstone. The sexual tension between me and dnfing a book is high but nigh impossible as I hate dnfing.

This one had a boring start, then a more interesting middle. But something abt the characters just aren’t super believable. Like I’m supposed to believe gregor and sandys are both like in love together but they act like roommates and neither have any personality minus their respective botany/taxidermy hobbies.

I have no particular love or interest in this book. I think the book the character is writing in the story is more interesting to me than the actual book I’m reading :,(
