I have literally read this book before and know what happens so why am I still bawling at the sadness and the found family 😭

you cannot go on about how baking is a science and accurate measurements are important and then measure your butter in only american sticks or tablespoons!!! I will not be measuring 12 tbsp of butter just tell me how many grams it is

obsessed w this time travel romance, especially him sneaking her a bag of gold coins (that he earned by using her hints about the future for investments) and telling her if she doesnt keep them then he’ll “start withholding scones”

I am really enjoying this book, but it does feel like I’ve been thrown suddenly into advanced chemistry and history at a foreign and very racist school - I am very viscerally experiencing what Anequs is, and its taking a lot of brainpower to process!
