I’m not buying the romance between MMCs and also the “banter” between the love interests is so cringe I may just die

Maybe I’m picky but it’s irksome when a character says something and then another character points out that they didn’t need clarification or that it was redundant…why not just edit that out? It seems like lazy writing. if your character is aware that this statement is unnecessary maybe just remove it

Patrick Colson is so Thomas Shelby coded and god does it get me hot and bothered

I liked the beginning of this but the fmc is insufferable, book is full of at least 150 pages of filler (so far) and now I’m meant to believe there is undeniable chemistry between her and the other guy in the dungeon even though they’ve spoken for a collective 5 minutes? Sure

Not me over here thinking the villain won’t actually be a villain and this is enemies to lovers…meanwhile he’s literally torturing her and not in a ha ha that’s cute way but a let me put you in a barrel of rats and watch them attack you sort of way

How fitting that while people are celebrating 250 years of America I am reading a dystopian story about a classist society and killing those who rebel against their overlords 👀🤪

I so badly want this to be a throuple

We could just ignore the fmc being on her period around the vampire, that would be great (the author in fact did not ignore it)

Of course the grim reaper/death in his skeletal form has just enough flesh for a gigantic penis for the fmc to ride

This is a unique plot/world but I think I could do without the excess maggot and pustule descriptions

I’m living for all of the Pedro pascal love and might rate this 5 stars for that reason alone

This book is less than 300 pages long

This book is educating me on scent notes so much I’m going to become a perfume connoisseur (I am loving this book)

I like that because of the plot revolving around magical perfume there is a reason for all of these people to have elaborate scents

I could listen to Julia Whelan narrate just about anything

I can’t tell if this story is kicking tradwife influencers/religion or if it’s pushing it down my throat but either way I still hate this fmc

I hope the main character of this is supposed to be insufferable because I kinda felt good when she got hit in the face because her inner monologue is painfully arrogant

This reread has me fighting for my life against tears I didn’t think I’d shed the second time through
