I forgot to say that I have actually read the first volume of this.

So good. It's insane how you develop that insane premise into something so absurdly tense and uncomfortable, and not making something profoundly stupid. Oshimi knows what he's doing.

I don't know how a book highly respected by Kafka, Stefan Zweig, Rilke and Joyce (between some others) can be so unknown.

I've read all the stories that are in "the street of crocodiles".
Bruno Schulz might be one of my favorite writers as far as prose goes, he's capable of making a universe full of life from the most mundane. Although it shows he was a man of his time in some instances, he's a fascinating writer, at least to me.
