I’ve never wanted a set of parents to die more than I want Owen and Samantha to die. Um, excuse me? She essentially went into the lions den in a meat on to retrieve your kid because you both are worthless sacks of shit and not even a thank you? I’m a woman with almost zero triggers (except the big ones, pedo/bestiality/etc). So much so that I actually prefer my Dark-Roms to have some sort of non-con/grape between mcs, sprinkled with some forced pregnancy, torture, maybe some abduction. Like really, almost ZERO triggers. Chapter 168. I feel like the friend of a couple who constantly break up and make up. You don’t get involved because they always make up and then you’re the asshole. I’m over it and Anna deserves everything she gets. With the exception of Alex’s team, every character is trash. Even Justin went MIA and never looked her way again after night 1. Stef is cool though.

“I listened to her thoughts as she contemplated what I asked. She’s terrified, because of Devin, but hopes that you’ll forgive her if she does.”

Then you weren’t really listening.

And Alex is on my shit list. I don’t care for redemption arcs like most people because I find them lacking and shallow. There’s no justification for his acting like Devin and lording over her. I’ll be glad when she gets full freedom and fucks off to Paris to join that ballet company. Real fresh start.

“She was his wife, damnit! His wife! She belonged to him.”

Relax Devin jr. Wtf Alex?

“Sebastian and I were going to erase her memories of Devin to eliminate the threat for Anna, but when we started, we saw the hurt that caused her to act the way she does.” Alex smiled. “Sebastian healed her.”

I didn’t think I’d miss Jenna, but I’m kind of sad she wouldn’t be there to see it. Fucking Devin!

“Seth casually lowered himself to his knees until he was inches from her face. “I’m not one to hurt women, but if you even so much as look up Devin’s number, I will slit your throat.”

Okay Anna, now you’re proving to me why you need people to tell you what to do because girl, get a grip. Alex didn’t do anything to deserve the way you’re treating him.

So now, you hate Devin for causing Anna to finally stand up for herself? She’s only perfect and innocent when she’s docile in your favor?

Chapter 139, I hate Wilhelm and Kurt. A lot. I don’t care for their reasoning. It doesn’t make sense. I’m not even a big Anna fan but she deserves better than that. All the men who truly love her and she’s stuck playing into everyone else’s agenda, ALWAYS! It’s aggravating.

By now, I’ve dog-earred a handful of pages and I regret even hesitating to start reading this after recovering from a previous read. This book is already telling the story of my life as an innocent young girl of color and how easily and subtle predators are when stealing it away. I’ll definitely be holding on to this book for all of the young girls in my family.

I just picked up this book over the weekend on a whim and I am already hooked. I’m unfamiliar with the transition style but it’s immediately one of my favorite ways that this book takes me from one captivating and emotionally packed moment to another.

Love that. Little tidbits like this help me to finish this book that has been so anticlimactic throughout.

From the beginning till now, I expected his madness to be more like maybe GoT's mad king or even Henry VIII, but he's just a broken man child who was never really fit to rule to begin with. Not regretful of reading this book but definitely wouldn't have rushed out to start it, more like a filler "in between books" kind of book. Just my opinion. Maybe I need to read a textbook. Might be more intriguing lmao.

Jacquetta's character is so loving and sweet, I almost wish I skipped this book because it's more like a romance novel than really delving into the political aspect of that time. Maybe if it was from the Queens's viewpoint then we'd actually have more information the downfall of Henry, instead of "he's drifted" and 'he's asleep for 2 years'.

I thought by now Jacquetta would have used more magic and there would be more suspense but there isn't. It's pretty meh. Some parts start off very exciting but then fall flat. The death of the Duke? I half-expected a full out massacre by Margaret but no. Just more tears. I guess growing up, learning about her history, she seemed a little more reckless and tyrannical as well as being naïve but hey, what do I know.

Started on 7/5.

So far, I'm in love with this book. I legit took a 3 month long break halfway just so I could also find myself like she is. This book has pushed me to be a better me.
