quite a threadbare story plot and character wise but man do i enjoy eldritch horrors from the woods and dirt

this story is so freaking tasty i never want to it to end

i have to stick it out to the end

Still not liking it. Sam and Grace are still so boring - I thought for a moment at the beginning there may be SOME kind of conflict, but after a few chapters I knew it was going to revert to the usual mind numbing sweetness. I've started skim reading their chapters. At first I thought Cole and Isabel were going to provide something different - which they did - but they're somehow TOO faux-edgy for me. I can't win

maybe it’s because this book isn’t just stuck in the povs of sam and grace (who i am still struggling to connect with as characters), but this book is already much better than the last one. especially with cole and isabel’s scenes i am starting to feel a little more depth and nuance. it’s still not brilliant, but better.

this book is too sickeningly sweet. sometimes there’s moments that break the sugar, but mostly i’m just reading it groaning and thinking how much the main characters drag everything out. i’m only continuing because it’s maggie and i’m holding out some hope it has at least 5% of the raven boys charm coming up somewhere

i'm reading this and i am amazed by how good it is but also shaking screaming crying because i'm scared and want to go home

I’mEnjoying it but at the moment not seeing why it gets rave reviews .. something about the writing style feels detached . But it has promise, who knows maybe I’ll eat my words soon
