The first one meant the world to me when I was the closeted queer kid in middle school. At the time I didn’t think any form of fiction could make me feel seen and I remember how often I read the first Aristotle and Dante book and feeling like I could finally relate to something for the first time in a long time. Reading the second one so many years later is so surreal and emotional.

So far it’s been damn exhausting to get through this but I’m eager to finish it anyway. I love the way Rooney writes - the characters and the story sadly do absolutely nothing to me
