I used this as a text for a grad seminar I taught on evidentialist epistemology. I’ve assigned selections for other courses, as well. These are new essays, commissioned by the editor, who contributes an excellent survey of discussions. Interactions with Michael Huemer’s work are featured throughout.

I read sections of this book when I’m needing a refresher on movements in early to middle 20th century epistemology. A go-to authority for detailed discussions of British Idealism, schools of American realism (i.e., New Realism and Critical Realism), Pragmatism, and early Anglo-American Analytic contributions to the subject. All of the seminal figures are treated, and critical comparisons are made throughout.
