the minute i heard that book 8 was on pre-order, yk i had to use the last of my funds for this

sometimes, i can believe in cass' worldbuilding, but then it blows up when i get reminded of why the selection exists

Okay, so I borrowed this last month bc I was so unsure whether i like it. and i have to say the selection is a guilty pleasure. its hitting that early 2010s ya dystopia craving i got.

anyways, the overall vibe that im getting is that this america's next top model for teens. (and i can never get over the fmc being called america. i just keep thinking the book is talking about the country, not the fmc)

Now I understand why Pride & Prejudice is a classic. Jane Austen really was the blueprint for sassy FMC and dark haired broody MMC. What I enjoyed the most was probably how Elizabeth overcame her prejudice against Darcy in a natural way. Maybe I'm a dumbass but I want to see Darcy's growth in that way and the fevorant passions. i think it's just me and I want to see the passion and be loved that way.

In hindsight, I shuld probably stop reading books out of nostalgia. It's only chapter 1 and I'm mortified by my middle school taste.

I'm either a dumbass, but is V a demon or a ghost? For half of the book I was convinced that V was a ghost, but is actually a demon. Anyways , I would have rated this lower, but the ending was really just oomf. I didn't expect that tbh. Or I kinda did, but I love the ambiguity of it.
