actually quite comforting which I’m only okay with because every other writing book I’ve read and enjoyed has spit on me and called me lazy and stupid and told me to shut up and write my slop. clearly more for creative writers but lots of stuff re: anxiety that’s helped me (so-called academic writer) a lot, actually

why is everyone in this book gay that just was not what i bargained for

Glissant is such an amazing writer like this guy has never ever missed

(rereading because, in a funny turn, I’ve wound up writing about queer illness—this book kept coming back to mind. it’s really excellent.)
