this is not a horror book but in someway i feel horrified. the way these characters are portrayed is kind of visceral, every one of them in their intricacies co-operating to create such an intense narrative. the dialogue between ivan and aliocha terrified me, made me feel sick, have goosebumps. its as if this book does not belong to this world. ivan is such a great and interesting character as well

ok but why is this just too good. i wasnt expecting this level of good interaction and this pages basically are just a big conversation of two characters, but just keeps going on its topics and its so rich exploring the two perspectives. the book doesnt even takes time to describe the individuals, it just lets the dialogue of them speak for itself. its beautiful

will comeback to this eventually. its just really dense to read, but keeps building a interesting schzophrenic style of a characther so self-conscious of itself. everytime i try to read it gets me so sleepy btw

really entertaing. nothing much to say, its enjoyable and has some great passages and monologues, without losing its way on the narrative

the best starting point of a book ive ever read; everythings so rich and interesting and just jump to straight up description and inserts yourself in a very much planned out in-characther universe in a organic way. i want to reread this mere fifty pages to just imagine that i can someday mimic this style. its really genius shit

this is a interesting one. theres nothing really special about the writing style despite the fact that he keeps reiterating that "blablabla this is not fiction yadayada" like bro i get it. the manga adaptation goes to the point more quickly and didnt lose much soooo. hope it gets better, but its not bad, just bland

"well, more than hundred pages of manuscript pages of goofing off, even I was starting to feel a little full" (p.80) even bro knows that he is just farming pages of nothing. he keeps getting away by being self-ironic and this just resumes the first season as a whole. all fun and games with delusions of a plot iguess

i think that soseki's prose is remarkably poetical, and because of that indulge the reader in a dense ostensive reading of the book, maybe analytical at some times. before you notice, kokoro makes you think about all the questions and morals of the characters naturally. its a really charming reading
