If I knew better I think I'd just give a 2 star rating and close up this book and forget about it (after finishing this chapter and that last word 😃). But fortunately or unfortunately, I'm going to finish reading whatever this is
Side note: I now understand that one review that stated that you'd die from alcohol poisoning if you took a shot every time the word "small" is used in this book lol

The info dumps in these passages are extensive. The way in which Bennett is explored... He's just not explored? The paragraph is boring and will not stick in the long run. Also, in the previous chapter, I don't get how that much background on coach Kelley is going to be a plot point. The time skips are also frustrating, I'd want to see the characters developed through actions and interactions rather than lore dumps.

I find a lot of the writing and exposition bad/confusing. For instance, we were introduced to Rhys' brother (?) who apparently is not even a blood brother? This key dynamic was introduced through a throwaway line which, in my opinion, does not do it justice. It would be better if this had been revealed through Liam and Oliver reminding him of his own brotherhood he shares with Bennett, even if not (fully?) by blood..

A bland storyline (poor damsel in distress is captured by an emotionally troubled "beast" with a tragic backstory, and finds the good in him) which had the potential to be great and failed spectacularly. The begining of the book being filler felt like the author had no idea how to actually work with/around time skips (or gaps) and make the story progress. This issue becomes more evident as you keep reading.
