We're acknowledging Women's Month in South Africa this month. It is intended to be a celebration of 9 August 1956 when approximately 20 000 women marched to the union buildings in protest of the apartheid pass system.
This book contains a bleak and honest insight into why we cannot celebrate this month as we face ever increasing femicide rates. Stark, blunt and intense I am loving it and saddened at the same time.

This is one of those books that requires a lot of patience and a very specific sense of humour. Undecided at the moment as to whether I like it or not.
