Rostam Being cocky is so much fun when his son's life is not in danger.

This book is way too long

Magical stories, Fabulous translation.

Unbelievable how most people go through their lives not knowing what a privilege it is to have a normal brain.

My chest physically hurt going through this part and the thing is, this was written a thousand years ago (literally) like HOW does this hurt so much

This post-structuralism chapter was not an easy read and I don't know if that's a me problem or a book problem.

This is "The Decay of Lying" and "The Critic as Artist" (both essays by Oscar Wilde) if he bothered to explain what he meant. <3

My heart shatters every time Siavash longs for home.

C'est marrant. J'adore Marguerite.

Imagine someone not giving you something that could've saved your son's life out of pure pettiness, and you think to yourself: I can persuade him to put off the war, he'll listen to me. Yeah sure buddy.

Ngl I'm suffering through this.

Nothing ever happens in this book.

Near psychosis epileptic episode is FINALLY here NOW WE'RE TALKING

This book is funny and entertaining (there's room for the campiness to grow but it's okay) I am indeed eating 👏 this 👏 up 👏

This is actually fun 😭

The way he builds these complex characters using few words at a time.

What da f-

Nastasya what are you up to

It's absurd how often I forget how funny and engaging these stories are. And the female characters are so well written you can hardly find such complex depictions of women even in modern litrature.
