That's a casual way of dealing with a threat!

If you're going to introduce the "hero" being a total asshole and then immediately go into a flashback of how the two main characters met, use that flashback to give me a reason for him to be a douche canoe.

Instead, we get this picture of him being funny and sweet while getting her attention for the first time.

And then we go back into present day where I still don't know why he's being a jerk.

Why the crap are you gonna write in third person present tense we are talking about the past! Seriously, I hate this choice in any situation, let alone a situation where we are setting a chapter 9 years prior! It has no business being in present tense!

Her lustsickness is so cringe. I don't know the story at all but I cannot stand the descriptions of how horny she is for this dude that doesn't wanna talk to her.

So we're all okay with a 16-year old girl dating a 90-year old!? Gross.

Also, he looks like a 16-year old. What happens when she grows up and he looks like jailbait?

This book is cray-cray.

Authors, don't let the audience know so much more than your main character unless you want us to yell at her and call her an idiot! I mean, she knows exactly what we know. So actually she is an idiot!

The writing in this book is terrible. And the narrator doesn't help. Not sure how long I can keep reading.

Did he just tell her to "come!" Like a dog!? Why she doesn't have a problem with how he talks to her, I will never understand!

She comes off layover immature during this sex scene. She supposedly has a LOT more experience than him but she's super shy. It's not sexy.

Her constant bad self talk in addition to over responsibility? Ugh. She's not responsible for everyone and everything!

It's so strange for the heroine to muse on past lovers who would have respected her boundaries and not thought they knew best. Uh, what? Are we saying that current "mate" is a bulldozer and that's good?

This author writes well but her ideal characteristics for a hero are bonkers.

I'm never a huge fan of a super self-sacrificial heroine. She's so busy trying to protect everyone around her in a way that is dangerous to herself and doesn't necessarily help anyone she's trying to protect.

Why does this author write these men who keep secrets!? It's so irritating that he's not honest and open with her.

I'm so puzzled by his rejection.
